WHAT IS AMP?
The Academy of Musical Performance (AMP) is a contemporary music education non-profit in the Coachella Valley, filling the gap left by the lack of arts education funding within the public school system by providing accessible programs to youth and families that increase access to a music education that excites them, as well as providing access to instruments that disadvantaged youth may not have access to.
AMP's flagship programs, AMP Summer Camp and AMP Fall & Spring, teach students to play in bands; writing, rehearsing, and performing in public. This type of education encourages social-emotional learning through engagement in small groups of different people, where kids reap the developmental benefits of creating and making music in a supportive environment. As part of its non-profit mission, AMP also offers Tuition Aid to whomever needs it. In 2020, two-thirds of AMP's current students are on some form of Tuition Aid.

AMPalooza is our annual fundraiser for local youth music programs, held in partnership with local school district DSUSD's Desert Sands Educational Foundation (DSEF).
Immerse yourself in the future music scene of the City of Festivals and experience an evening in a music lover's paradise. Three stages of music will scratch whichever musical itch you're feeling, while you sip on cocktails and the American fare from the Coachella Valley's most rockin' music venue, Big Rock Pub. Once you're feeling good, go out on the patio and play cornhole, while eavesdropping on the sounds and stories of the Songwriter's Lounge. All stages will feature teenagers playing music at a level you've never seen, along with local and national acts, and a headliner, performing in three separate performance areas through the evening.
- Ernie Ball's Outdoor Stage
- Big Rock Pub's Indoor Stage
- Acoustic Songwriter's Lounge
👀 HEADLINER SEARCH 👀
We are currently looking for a headliner to perform at AMPalooza
in order to help bring attention to our event and raise more funds for our local youth music programs.
The headliner's name will be included in all marketing materials for our event, and TV, radio, and internet media sponsors have pledged $50k+ in in-kind media coverage across the all markets in the Coachella Valley. AMP and DSEF have strong community support and AMPalooza is expected to receive a lot of local attention.
As a fundraising event for our youth music programs, we are trying to keep our costs low and would love an artist who wants to be a hero for AMP's young musicians and who is able to donate their time. As a band performance program, we understand that there are real costs associated with performing and are happy to discuss covering costs that would be incurred from a headliner's performance at AMPalooza.
